Bottom-ranked Ginasio (0-8) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their eighth consecutive match to fourth ranked Barreirense CEPSA (6-2) 79-55. The game without a history. Barreirense CEPSA led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Barreirense CEPSA outrebounded Ginasio 28-17. The winners were led by American forward David Jackson (201-88, college: Penn St.) who scored that evening 17 points and 6 rebounds and forward Joao Guerreiro (205-90) supported him with 6 points and 10 rebounds. Barreirense CEPSA's coach Antonio Herrera felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 14 points and 4 assists by swingman Pedro Rocha (190-87) did not help to save the game for Ginasio. Forward Daniel Caluico (198-83) added 11 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Barreirense CEPSA have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Ginasio at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Barreirense CEPSA will play against Sampaense (#10) in Coimbra in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ginasio will play at home against CAB Madeira in Funchal and hopes to get finally their first victory.
