Regular Season Round 14: Ferro-ZNTU - BC Odessa 88-82

There was a small surprise in Zaporozhye where ninth ranked Ferro-ZNTU (8-7) defeated 7th ranked BC Odessa (9-6) 88-82. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But BC Odessa won fourth quarter 31-27. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ferro-ZNTU made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Ferro-ZNTU especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. American guard Randy Culpepper (182-89, college: UTEP) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 5 rebounds. The other American import center R.T. Guinn (208-81, college: Baylor) contributed with 20 points for the winners. American-Bulgarian point guard Willie Deane (188-80, college: Purdue, agency: Higher Vision Sports) replied with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and Vincentian center Shawn King (208-82, college: ORU) added 13 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for BC Odessa. Four BC Odessa players scored in double figures. Ferro-ZNTU maintains ninth position with 8-7 record. BC Odessa at the other side keeps the seventh place with six games lost. Ferro-ZNTU's next round opponent will be higher ranked BC Kyiv (#8) at home and it may be quite challenging game.
