There was no surprise when 19th ranked TED Istanbul (2-9) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Gaziantep (7-4) 77-71 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. TED Istanbul trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 19-11 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-77 at the end of the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Antabia Waller (188-88, college: Auburn) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized Serbian power forward Mesut Ademoglu (207-82, college: NW Nazarene) who added 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Sercan Tulek (201-88) with 5 points and 11 rebounds and Ahmet Demirhan (-87, agency: EM-PA) scored 12 points. Gaziantep moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. TED Istanbul lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with nine games lost. Gaziantep will face Final Genclik (#8) in Bursa in the next round. TED Istanbul will play at home against Baskent Genclik (#15) in Ankara.
