Not a big story in a game in Istanbul where 14th ranked Pertevniyal (4-7) was defeated by seventh ranked Selcuk Universitesi (7-4) 82-71 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Selcuk Universitesi. Pertevniyal was better in third quarter 26-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Selcuk Universitesi forced 21 Pertevniyal turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Erdem Turetken (199-79, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Mustafa Gucyetmez (188-80) who added 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Selcuk Universitesi players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Burak Can with 21 points and 9 rebounds and center Ramazan Tekin (212-93) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Selcuk Universitesi have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Pertevniyal at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with seven games lost. Selcuk Universitesi will face league's second-placed Akhisar Bld at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Pertevniyal's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Istanbul B.B..
