Regular Season Round 14: Dorsten - SU Medien 77-84

Date: December 3, 2011
Very significant was Spot Up Medien Baskets' (#4) 84-77 road victory against 5th ranked Dorsten in Group North. Dorsten was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 46-38 second half run of Spot Up Medien Baskets. It was a great shooting night for Spot Up Medien Baskets especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Center Daniel Theis (207-92) notched 21 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Waldemar Buchmiller (195-80) supported him with 23 points. Even 20 points and 7 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) by American guard Terry Bryant (186-85, college: SE Louisiana) did not help to save the game for Dorsten. His fellow American import center Blake Poole (195-88, college: St.Martin's, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) added 12 points and 14 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Spot Up Medien Baskets (9-4) moved-up to second place in Group North, which they share with Vechta. Newly promoted Dorsten keeps the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Schwelm. Spot Up Medien Baskets will play against SG Schwelmer Baskets (#6) at home in the next round. Dorsten will play against SSV Lok Bernau and hopes to get back on the winning track.
