Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Gelisim and 13th ranked Usak had identical 4-6 record. But Usak was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Izmir 79-78 on Sunday night. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 27-19. But Usak won second period 21-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Gelisim won last quarter 18-19. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Ozgun Onver (195-82) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 rebounds and guard Sertay Gursu (195-87, agency: EM-PA) who added 19 points and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Dijuan Harris (175-86, college: Charlotte, agency: ARN Sports and Entertainment) with 17 points, 9 assists and 7 steals and center Engin Algin (202-75) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gelisim have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Istanbul B.B. Usak lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with seven games lost. Gelisim will face higher ranked Maliye Milli (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Usak will play against Tire Gucu (#17).
