Regular Season Round 7: Kayseri - Tarsus Bld 81-70

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Tarsus Bld (3-4) lost on the road to third ranked Kayseri (6-1) 81-70. It looked good early as Tarsus Bld took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Kayseri had a 25-12 second period charge getting the lead and Tarsus Bld was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 70-81. Kayseri made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. American LaToya Sanders (191-86, college: N.Carolina) fired 20 points for the winners. Her fellow American import swingman Bahar Ozturk (183-84, college: Connecticut) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Five Kayseri players scored in double figures. American power forward Tangela Smith (193-77, college: Iowa, agency: Josep and Nicolas) produced 28 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Yasemin Dalgalar (183-88) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Kayseri. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Fenerbahce and Galatasaray. Tarsus Bld lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. Kayseri's next round opponent will be league's leader Fenerbahce in Istanbul and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tarsus Bld will play at home against Besiktas (#11) in Istanbul.
