Regular Season Round 15: Naestved - Aarhus BC 80-79

Fourth-ranked Aabyhoj (6-9) gave a tough game to third ranked Naestved (10-5). Naestved managed to secure only one-point victory 80-79. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-14. But Aabyhoj won second period 22-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Corin Henry (180-88, college: Tarleton St.) who led the winners and scored 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. The former international power forward Peter Johansen (205-80) accounted for 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Naestved's coach Geoff Kotila allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward D'Mario Curry (201-85, college: Lincoln Memorial) came up with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and international guard Darko Jukic (199-90) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Aabyhoj in the defeat. Four Aabyhoj players scored in double figures. Naestved maintains third place with 10-5 record having four points less than leader Svendborg. Aabyhoj lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the fourth position with nine games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Naestved will play against Vaerlose (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Aabyhoj will have a break next round.
