Important game to mention about took place in Maribor. Sixth ranked Maribor Messer (4-5) saved a 2-point victory at home edging second-best Elektra (7-2) 73-71 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Elektra. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. They outrebounded Elektra 40-21 including 16 on the offensive glass. Elektra was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Jure Pelko (190-90) nailed 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Serbian power forward Ilija Zolotic (207-86, agency: BeoExcell) accounted for 13 points and 11 rebounds. Five Elektra players scored in double figures. Maribor Messer moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Polzela and Rogaska. Elektra at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Maribor Messer will play against Polzela (#6) at home in the next round. Elektra will play against Rogaska (#5) in Rogaska Slatina and hopes to get back on the winning track.
