Rather expected game in Ankara where 6th ranked Darussafaka (7-5) was defeated by fourth ranked Optimum TED (9-3) 81-64 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Optimum TED. Darussafaka was better in third quarter 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Darussafaka was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Hakan Yapar (202-84) stepped up and scored 17 points for the winners and swingman Cihan Amasyali (191-83) chipped in 9 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side forward Erdinc Balto (207-90) responded with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and center Dogukan Sonmez (206-92) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Optimum TED moved-up to second place, which they share with Akhisar Bld. Loser Darussafaka dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Optimum TED will face Gelisim (#11) in Izmir in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Darussafaka will play at home against the league's leader Genc Telekom (#1) in Ankara.
