Regular Season Round 11: Dunav 8806 - Slavia 108-65

NBL top team - Dunav 8806 (8-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Slavia (0-9) in Ruse 108-65. It looked good early as Slavia took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Dunav 8806 had a 29-11 second period charge getting the lead and Slavia was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-108. Dunav 8806 dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Slavia's 42. Dunav 8806 forced 21 Slavia turnovers and outrebounded them 43-19 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a great evening for forward Diana Voynova (190, college: Duquesne) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Adrienne Johnson (182-89, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: LBM Management) helped adding 25 points and 7 rebounds. Dunav 8806's coach Georgi Bojkov felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International forward Neli Pasheva (175-81) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 assists and international center Aleksandra Delcheva (202-87) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dunav 8806 have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. Slavia at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. Dunav 8806 will play against Montana 2003 (#4) on the road in the next round. Slavia will play against Beroe 07 in Stara Zagora and hopes to get finally their first victory.
