Regular Season Round 15: Horsholm - Falcon 80-62

Rather expected game when 10th ranked Falcon (3-12) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Horsholm (6-9) 80-62. The game was mostly controlled by Horsholm. Falcon was better in fourth quarter 18-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Falcon to just 7 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Falcon 38-27 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American power forward Joe Benjamin (201-83, college: W.Virginia St.) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Bonell Colas (205-82, college: Florida) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Horsholm players scored in double figures. Senegalese power forward Pape Ba (207-80, college: Beth.-Cookman) answered with 8 points and 10 rebounds and forward Christian Thomsen (200-84) added 13 points in the effort for Falcon. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Horsholm moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Falcon lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Horsholm's next round opponent will be league's leader Svendborg on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Falcon will play against SISU (#4) in Copenhagen.
