Regular Season Round 15: Azovmash - DniproAzot 75-66

Leader Azovmash recorded the twelfth victory. This time they beat 12th ranked DniproAzot (3-13) 75-66 in Mariupol. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-12. But DniproAzot won second period 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Azovmash made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 DniproAzot turnovers. It was a quality performance for American swingman Ricky Minard (196-82, college: Morehead St.) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Daniel Ewing (191-83, college: Duke, agency: Alti Sport) accounted for 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Filipino-American point guard Stanley Pringle (184-87, college: Penn St.) came up with 15 points and 5 assists and American guard Clarence Jackson (193-89, college: Siena) added 11 points respectively for DniproAzot in the defeat. DniproAzot's coach Donaldas Kairys gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Azovmash maintains first place with 12-4 record, which they share with BC Donetsk. DniproAzot at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Azovmash will have a break next round. DniproAzot will play on the road against Kryvbasbasket (#13) in Krivoy Rog and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
