Regular Season Round 19: LKKA-Atletas - Perlas-MRU 92-90

A very close game took place in Kaunas between LKKA-Atletas and Perlas-MRU. Sixth ranked LKKA-Atletas (11-8) got a very close home victory over 5th ranked Perlas-MRU (10-9). LKKA-Atletas managed to escape with a 2-point win 92-90 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Perlas-MRU. Perlas-MRU was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a great evening for forward Vidmantas Sragauskis (200-86) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points. Guard Sarunas Vingelis (192-89) helped adding 23 points. At the losing side guard Gintautas Vileita (194-75, college: Monmouth) responded with 16 points and Eivydas Molosciakas (-93) scored 16 points. Five Perlas-MRU players scored in double figures. Perlas-MRU's coach Mindaugas Sakalauskas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. LKKA-Atletas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Triobet. Loser Perlas-MRU dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Mazeikiai and Statyba. LKKA-Atletas will meet Triobet (#6) in the next round. Perlas-MRU will play against Zalgiris-Sabonio in Kaunas and hope to secure a win.
