Not a big story in a game in Frankfurt where 16th ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (3-9) were defeated by eleventh ranked BBC Bayreuth (6-6) 79-71. It looked good early as Deutsche Bank Skyliners took an 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then BBC Bayreuth had a 21-13 second period charge getting the lead and Deutsche Bank Skyliners were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 71-79. It was a good game for American guard Danny Gibson (180-84, college: S.Indiana, agency: Limelight Hoops) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 5 assists. Nigerian-American forward Ekenechukwu Ibekwe (206-85, college: Maryland) contributed with 19 points for the winners. BBC Bayreuth's coach Marco van den Berg used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. International power forward Tim Ohlbrecht (211-88) replied with 27 points and 6 rebounds (went 13 for 13 at the free throw line !!!) and American guard Quantez Robertson (190-84, college: Auburn) added 12 points and 5 assists in the effort for Deutsche Bank Skyliners. BBC Bayreuth maintains eleventh position with 6-6 record. Deutsche Bank Skyliners at the other side keep the sixteenth place with nine games lost. BBC Bayreuth's next round opponent will be higher ranked ALBA Berlin (#3) on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will play against New Yorker Phantoms (#8) in Braunschweig.
