SSV Lok Bernau can celebrate finally their first win this season after 13 consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Dorsten (8-6) 97-90 on Saturday. SSV Lok Bernau looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for forward Sebastian Trzcionka (197-79) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 assists. American guard Jermale Jones (186-86, college: Tuskegee) helped adding 24 points. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four SSV Lok Bernau players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was naturalized Albanian guard Nderim Pelaj (179-88) with 31 points and American guard Terry Bryant (186-85, college: SE Louisiana) scored 25 points and 4 assists. SSV Lok Bernau maintains thirteenth place in Group North with 1-13 record. It was Dorsten's third loss in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Stahnsdorf and Schwelm. SSV Lok Bernau will meet higher ranked SG Schwelmer Baskets (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dorsten will play against SC Rist Wedel and hope to secure a win.
