Regular Season Round 13: Levski - Neftochimic 72-84

An exciting game was played in Sofia. Second ranked Neftochimic faced 4th placed Levski. Guests from Burgas (8-2) defeated host Levski (5-6) 84-72. The game was mostly controlled by Neftochimic. Levski was better in second period 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Neftochimic forced 19 Levski turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Levski's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Ukrainian forward Katerina Dorogobuzova (187-90, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!). International forward Maria Zhelyazkova (181-86, agency: Promotex) contributed with 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Juanita Ward (180-86, college: Syracuse, agency: Merit Sports) answered with 27 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Diana Naydenova (171-73, agency: Global Sports Plaza) added 16 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) in the effort for Levski. Neftochimic have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 8-2 record having just two points less than leader Dunav 8806. Levski at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Neftochimic will play against league's leader Dunav 8806 in Ruse in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Levski will have a break next round.
