Rather expected game when 11th ranked Gelisim (6-8) was edged by eighth ranked Darussafaka (9-5) in Izmir 74-73 on Friday. The guests trailed by 13 points after three quarters before their 26-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Gelisim was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for forward Burak Selen (202-88) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Muhammed Baygul contributed with 19 points for the winners. Darussafaka's coach Aziz Bekir used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American forward De Vaughn Washington (202-89, college: Ohio, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Emre Ozpulat (200-82) added 9 points and 6 assists in the effort for Gelisim. Darussafaka moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Final Genclik. Gelisim at the other side keeps the eleventh position with eight games lost. Darussafaka will face higher ranked Gaziantep (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gelisim will play against Tire Gucu (#15).
