Regular Season Round 16: Licher Baeren - Hanau 71-74

Important game to mention about took place in Lich. Eighth ranked Hanau (7-7) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked Licher Baeren (7-7) 74-71 in the fight for the seventh place. It looked good early as Licher Baeren took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hanau had a 23-9 second period charge getting the lead and Licher Baeren was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 71-74. Worth to mention a great performance of Indian-American guard Anish Sharda (191-82, college: St.Mary's, KS) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 4 assists and center Ilja Ickert (201-81) who added 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Nicholas Pederson (203-85) responded with 22 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import forward Tyrone Bradshaw (203-86, college: S.Indiana, agency: KMG Sports Management) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Licher Baeren's coach Igor Starcevic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hanau moved-up to seventh place in Group South, which they share with defeated Licher Baeren. Hanau will play against higher ranked TV 1862 Langen (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Licher Baeren will play against the league's second-placed Noerdlingen having rather not much hope for a victory.
