Regular Season Round 15: Crailsheim - MBC 100-80

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (11-3) on the court of fourth ranked Crailsheim Merlins on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Crailsheim Merlins 100-80. The game was mostly controlled by Crailsheim Merlins. Mitteldeutscher BC managed to win second period 25-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Crailsheim Merlins made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Mitteldeutscher BC helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for guard Mark Hill (180, college: CS Northridge) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 6 assists. Forward Billy Baptist (196-87, college: Quincy) contributed with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Guard Robert Holcomb Faye (185-84, college: Radford) answered with 19 points, 8 assists and 4 steals and forward Arizona Reid (196-86, college: High Point) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Mitteldeutscher BC. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Crailsheim Merlins (9-5) moved-up to third place. Mitteldeutscher BC at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Crailsheim Merlins are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Leitershofen (#15) in Diedorf in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Mitteldeutscher BC will have a break next round.
