There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (7-8) won against 8th ranked USC Heidelberg (7-7) in Allmendingen 90-81 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But USC Heidelberg won third quarter 23-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ehingen/Urspringschule looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Ehingen/Urspringschule made 10 blocks. It was a good game for center Andreas Buechert (208-87, college: Winthrop, agency: Limelight Hoops) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks. American guard Garrett Williamson (196-88, college: St.Joseph's) contributed with 13 points and 6 assists for the winners. Five Ehingen/Urspringschule players scored in double figures.
