There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked SC Rist Wedel (5-10) beat on the road higher ranked Dorsten (8-7) 87-83 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 52-47 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. SC Rist Wedel dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Dorsten's 46. It was a very good performance for forward Fabian Boeke (211-86, college: Washington St.) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Florian Moysich (183-80) contributed with 19 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. SC Rist Wedel's coach Ozhan Gurel used entire bench in such tough game. American center Blake Poole (195-88, college: St.Martin's, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 18 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Terry Bryant (186-85, college: SE Louisiana) added 24 points and 5 assists in the effort for Dorsten. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SC Rist Wedel moved-up to eleventh place in Group North. Dorsten lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. SC Rist Wedel will face higher ranked SG Schwelmer Baskets (#4) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
