There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked ETB Wohnbau (6-8) beat higher ranked NBC (7-7) in Nurnberg 82-73 on Saturday. NBC trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 17-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 73-82 at the end of the game. It was a great shooting night for ETB Wohnbau especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. It was a good game for American point guard Chris Alexander (186-83, college: Southern) who led his team to a victory with 28 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Center Sebastian Schroter (207-83) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Nigerian forward Ike Okoye (206, college: Boise St.) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Jaivon Harris (197-82, college: Ohio) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for NBC. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. ETB Wohnbau moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Cuxhaven. Newly promoted NBC dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. ETB Wohnbau will face Saar-Pfalz Braves (#13) in Homburg in the next round.
