There was no surprise in Klaipeda where 6th ranked LKKA-Aistes (5-8) was defeated by second ranked Lemminkainen (7-4) 72-64. LKKA-Aistes was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 25-16 charge of Lemminkainen, which allowed them to win the game. They made 20-of-22 charity shots (90.9 percent) during the game. Lemminkainen forced 27 LKKA-Aistes turnovers. LKKA-Aistes was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Rita Milieskiene (175-78) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds (made all of her nine free throws !!!). International point guard Gabriele Gutkauskaite (172-90) contributed with 10 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Four Lemminkainen players scored in double figures. Forward Jolanta Marmiene (181-79) answered with 16 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Laura Svaryte (190-92) added 18 points (made all of her eight free throws) in the effort for LKKA-Aistes. Lemminkainen maintains second place with 7-4 record having just two points less than leader VICI-Aistes. LKKA-Aistes at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Lemminkainen will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. LKKA-Aistes will play at home against Suduva (#7) in Marijampole and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
