Very expected game when 9th ranked Vestel (8-6) was edged by fourth ranked Akhisar Bld (10-4) in Manisa 68-66 on Saturday. Vestel trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 23-11 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 66-68 at the end of the game. Vestel was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Tyrone Nelson (206-85, college: N.Mexico St.) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Guven Esmer (193-80) contributed with 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. Swingman Hakan Erol (200-83) answered with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Hadi Ozdemir (203-83) added 10 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Vestel.
