Regular Season Round 17: Mykolaiv - Ferro-ZNTU 83-71

There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Ferro-ZNTU (10-9) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Mykolaiv (6-12) 83-71 on Monday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-71. Americans were the main players on the court. Swingman Rodney Green (195-88, college: La Salle) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and point guard Jerome Coleman (187-81, college: Rutgers) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Mykolaiv's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Jeremy Chappell (191-87, college: Robert Morris, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and forward Mike Davis (205-88, college: Illinois) scored 9 points and 10 rebounds. Mykolaiv moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Cherkasy. Ferro-ZNTU at the other side keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Mykolaiv will face DniproAzot (#13) in Dniprodzerzhynsk in the next round.
