Regular Season Round 16: Braves - ETB Wohnbau 76-63
Date: December 21, 2011
There was a small surprise in Homburg where thirteenth ranked Saar-Pfalz Braves (5-10) beat 11th ranked ETB Wohnbau (6-9) 76-63. The game without a history. Saar-Pfalz Braves led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by ETB Wohnbau's players. The winners were led by British-Australian guard Lee Jeka (187-83, agency: Limelight Hoops) who scored that evening 25 points and 8 assists and naturalized Greek guard Kosta Karamatskos (197-86) supported him with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) by American forward Kendall Chones (201-84, college: Colgate) did not help to save the game for ETB Wohnbau. His fellow American import forward Joseph Henley (196-85, college: Sacred Heart) added 11 points for lost side. Saar-Pfalz Braves maintains thirteenth position with 5-10 record, which they share with Karlsruhe. ETB Wohnbau at the other side keeps the eleventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with Cuxhaven. Saar-Pfalz Braves will play against higher ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (#12) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
