No shocking result in a game when first ranked Fenerbahce (9-1) crushed 5th ranked Samsun (6-4) in Istanbul 103-83 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Fenerbahce led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Samsun's 52 and made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Fenerbahce looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian forward Penny Taylor (185-81) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. International center Nevriye Yilmaz (194-80) contributed with 18 points and 7 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. American guard Coco Miller (175-78, college: Georgia) replied with 19 points and her fellow American import forward Jillian Robbins (185-84, college: Tulsa, agency: LBM Management) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Samsun. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fenerbahce have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 9-1 record, which they share with Galatasaray. Samsun at the other side keeps the fifth place with four games lost. Fenerbahce will face Tarsus Bld (#9) in Mersin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Samsun will play at home against Optimum TED (#8) in Ankara.
