Round 18 in Superleague means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Mykolaiv where host Mykolaiv (7-13) beat league's leader Budivelnyk (13-5) 91-76 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Budivelnyk. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 49-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Mykolaiv made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American swingman Rodney Green (195-88, college: La Salle) who scored 25 points and 4 assists. The other American import point guard Deonta Vaughn (185-86, college: Cincinnati) chipped in 15 points and 9 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mykolaiv maintains tenth position with 7-13 record. Defending champion Budivelnyk dropped to the second place with five games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by BC Donetsk. Budivelnyk will play next round against BC Odessa trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Mykolaiv will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
