Regular Season Round 17: Final Genclik - Akhisar Bld 90-87

The most exciting game of round 17 in the TB2L took place in Bursa. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Akhisar Bld (11-5) to seventh ranked Final Genclik (11-5) 90-87 in the game for the fourth place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Akhisar Bld. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Final Genclik made 29-of-32 free shots (90.6 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Akhisar Bld helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was forward Orcun Okkali (201-87) who scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. point guard Esat Sinanoglu (188-82) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 assists. Five Final Genclik players scored in double figures. Final Genclik's coach Ali Ozbay used entire bench in such tough game. American forward Tyrone Nelson (206-85, college: N.Mexico St.) produced 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and forward Can Terzioglu (196-86) added 25 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for the guests. Final Genclik have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Akhisar Bld. Final Genclik is looking forward to face Balikesir (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Akhisar Bld will play against Orman Genc (#19) in Ankara and is hoping to win this game.
