We should mention about the upset which took place in Krivoy Rog, where higher ranked Khimik (12-7) was outleveled in a road game by thirteenth ranked Kryvbasbasket (5-14) 86-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Khimik. Khimik was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Kryvbasbasket made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Khimik helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Pierce Caldwell (191-88, college: Incarnate Word, agency: Alti Sport) notched 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and guard James Florence (185-88, college: Mercer, agency: Pro One Sports) supported him with 18 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Caldwell is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Kryvbasbasket players scored in double figures. Even 14 points and 9 rebounds by forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: N.Carolina) did not help to save the game for Khimik. point guard Louis Hinnant (193-84, college: Boston Coll.) added 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kryvbasbasket maintains thirteenth position with 5-14 record. Khimik at the other side keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. Kryvbasbasket will have a break next round. Khimik will play on the road against the league's second-placed Budivelnyk (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
