Regular Season Round 16: NBC - Cuxhaven 91-76
Date: December 23, 2011
Rather expected game in Nurnberg where 11th ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (6-9) were defeated by eighth ranked NBC (8-7) 91-76. The game without a history. NBC led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 22-of-25 charity shots (88.0 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court. The winners were led by guard Jaivon Harris (197-82, college: Ohio) who scored that evening 26 points and 4 assists and guard Will Chavis (181-81, college: Texas Tech) supported him with 16 points and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws). Four NBC players scored in double figures. NBC's coach Derrick Taylor allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 20 points and 6 steals by guard Jackson Capel (191-87, college: Evangel) did not help to save the game for Cuxhaven BasCats. Power forward Nate Gerwig (206-83, college: Kent St.) added 11 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. NBC moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Webmoebel and Jena. Cuxhaven BasCats lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with nine games lost. They share it with ETB Wohnbau. NBC will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cuxhaven BasCats will play at home against Saar-Pfalz Braves (#13) in Homburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
