LKL top team - Lietuvos rytas (11-1) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Juventus (4-7) in Vilnius 102-68. The game without a history. Lietuvos rytas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Juventus' 30. Lietuvos rytas forced 19 Juventus turnovers and outrebounded them 37-23 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Lietuvos rytas especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. The best player for the winners was international center Jonas Valanciunas (210-92) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. FYR Macedonian center Predrag Samardziski (214-86, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Five Lietuvos rytas players scored in double figures. Lietuvos rytas' coach Aleksandar Dzikic felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The former international guard Darius Pakamanis (192-81) produced 14 points and 7 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and center Karolis Petrukonis (212-87, college: Clemson) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Lietuvos rytas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-1 record. Juventus lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost. Lietuvos rytas will meet at home league's second-placed Zalgiris in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Juventus will play against Techasas (#12) in Panevezys and hope to secure a win.
