Regular Season Round 11: Levski Sofia - Spartak Pleven 90-82

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Levski Sofia (9-2) beat at home bottom-ranked Spartak Pleven (1-10) 90-82. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Spartak Pleven won third quarter 20-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Levski Sofia dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak Pleven's 34 and made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Spartak Pleven 44-24 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Levski Sofia players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a great evening for the former international guard Jordan Bozov (191-79, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). International guard Zlatin Georgiev (195-85) helped adding 12 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Levski Sofia players scored in double figures. The former international forward Ilia Stankov (198-76) responded with 25 points and 5 assists and forward Todor Todorov (198-82) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Levski Sofia maintains second place with 9-2 record behind leader Lukoil Academik. Spartak Pleven lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Levski Sofia will play against Chernomorets (#7) in Burgas in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Spartak Pleven will play at home against Rilski Sportist in Samokov to get more than just one victory in their record.
