Very expected game in Ankara where 19th ranked Orman Genc (4-12) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Pertevniyal (7-9) 94-76 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Pertevniyal. Orman Genc was better in third quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Pertevniyal outrebounded Orman Genc 43-28 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Pertevniyal especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 64.3 percentage. The best player for the winners was guard Omer Sancakli (195-92, agency: 1x1 Sports) who scored 28 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Swingman Tayfun Erulku (188-94) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Timucin Yener (185-84) produced 17 points and Yusuf Poturoglu added 14 points respectively for the hosts. Five Pertevniyal and four Orman Genc players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Pertevniyal moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Istanbul B.B. and Tire Gucu. Loser Orman Genc dropped to the eighteenth position with 12 games lost. Pertevniyal will face league's leader Genc Telekom in Ankara in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Orman Genc will play on the road against Akhisar Bld (#6).
