Regular Season Round 17: Vestel - Usak 80-54

No shocking result in a game in Manisa where ninth ranked Vestel (9-7) smashed 18th ranked Usak (4-12) 80-54 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Vestel outrebounded Usak 45-21 including a 32-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Usak was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was swingman Hakan Erol (200-83) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Center Umut Yenice (209-79, agency: EM-PA) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Dijuan Harris (175-86, college: Charlotte, agency: ARN Sports and Entertainment) produced 10 points and 4 assists and Mirac Erol (-89) added 6 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Vestel moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Darussafaka. Usak lost their eleventh game in a row. They keep the eighteenth position with 12 games lost. Vestel will face higher ranked Maliye Milli (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Usak will play against TED Istanbul (#20) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
