Regular Season Round 18: Hoverla - Azovmash 71-61

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Azovmash (12-5) against seventh ranked Hoverla (12-7) on Monday night. Visiting Azovmash was defeated by Hoverla in Frankivsk 71-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Azovmash. Azovmash was ahead by 9 points at the halftime before a 40-21 second half run of Hoverla. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Azovmash's 26. It was a good game for American center Eric Coleman (200-85, college: N.Iowa, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) who led his team to a victory with 17 points. The other American import swingman Kevin Tiggs (196-84, college: E.Tenn.St.) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Hoverla players scored in double figures. The former international guard Artur Drozdov (199-80) replied with 18 points and 8 rebounds and American swingman Ricky Minard (196-82, college: Morehead St.) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Azovmash. Hoverla moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Khimik. Azovmash at the other side dropped to the third position with five games lost. Hoverla will play against league's leader BC Donetsk at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Azovmash will play against Halychyna in Lviv and hopes to get back on the winning track.
