We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fourth ranked Artland Dragons (10-4) defeated one of their biggest challengers ALBA Berlin (9-3) in Quakenbrueck 97-89 on Tuesday. The hosts trailed by 12 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning next two quarters and won the game by 8 points. It was a great shooting night for Artland Dragons especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. ALBA Berlin was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard David Holston (170-86, college: Chicago St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 5 assists. American-Puerto Rican forward Nathan Peavy (203-85, college: Miami, OH) contributed with 19 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Derrick Allen (203-80, college: Mississippi, agency: Pro One Sports) replied with 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import guard DaShaun Wood (185-85, college: Wright St.) added 15 points in the effort for ALBA Berlin. Four ALBA Berlin players scored in double figures. Artland Dragons have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. ALBA Berlin at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Artland Dragons will face Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#12) in Frankfurt in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ALBA Berlin will play at home against Telekom Baskets (#11) in Bonn.
