Important game to mention about took place in Kyiv. Fifth ranked Khimik (13-8) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 9th ranked BC Kyiv (10-10) 96-93 on Wednesday evening. The guests trailed by 12 points after three quarters before their 26-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Khimik made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Khimik especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. BC Kyiv was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American point guard Darrel Mitchell (181-84, college: LSU, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 9 assists (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!). American guard Derrick Zimmerman (191-81, college: Mississippi St.) answered with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Ruslan Otverchenko (195-90) added 23 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) in the effort for BC Kyiv. Four Khimik and five BC Kyiv players scored in double figures. Khimik maintains fifth place with 13-8 record. Loser BC Kyiv keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Khimik will face higher ranked Hoverla (#4) in Frankivsk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BC Kyiv will play at home against the league's second-placed BC Donetsk (#2).
