Regular Season Round 15: B.Muenchen - Bayreuth 73-65

Date: December 29, 2011
Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked BBC Bayreuth (7-8) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Bayern Muenchen (9-6) 73-65 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-65. The best player for the winners was international guard Steffen Hamann (194-81) who scored 22 points and 4 assists. International forward Robin Benzing (208-89) chipped in 15 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian-Haitian guard Osvaldo Jeanty (183-84, agency: Interperformances) who recorded 16 points and 4 assists and American forward Brandon Hunter (201-80, college: Ohio) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bayern Muenchen moved-up to fifth place. Loser BBC Bayreuth dropped to the eleventh position with eight games lost. Bayern Muenchen will meet league's second-placed ratiopharm Ulm on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BBC Bayreuth will play against the league's leader Brose Baskets (#1) in Bamberg and hope to secure a win.
