Everything went according to plan in Frankfurt where third ranked Artland Dragons (11-4) beat 12th ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (5-10) 49-44 on Friday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 17-7 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Artland Dragons dominated on the defensive end, holding Deutsche Bank Skyliners to just 7 points in third quarter. The best player for the winners was American-Puerto Rican forward Nathan Peavy (203-85, college: Miami, OH) who scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. American guard David Holston (170-86, college: Chicago St.) chipped in 7 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jermareo Davidson (208-84, college: Alabama) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import guard Jimmy McKinney (192-83, college: Missouri, agency: Strategic Sports) added 13 points respectively. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Artland Dragons. They maintain third place with 11-4 record behind leader Brose Baskets. Loser Deutsche Bank Skyliners dropped to the fourteenth position with ten games lost. They share it with LTi 46ers. Artland Dragons will meet at home Phoenix Hagen (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will play against LTi 46ers in Giessen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
