Regular Season Round 20: Khimik - Dnipro 92-87

Everything went according to plan in Yuzhny where third ranked Khimik (15-8) beat 8th ranked Dnipro (11-9) 92-87 on Tuesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Dnipro trailed by 13 points at halftime and as many as 14 after three quarters before a 29-20 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 87-92 at the end of the game. It was a great shooting night for Khimik especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Reyshawn Terry (203-84, college: N.Carolina) who scored 31 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import point guard Darrel Mitchell (181-84, college: LSU, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 assists. International guard Steven Burtt (185-84, college: Iona) produced 35 points (!!!) (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and French power forward Jerome Moiso (208-78, college: UCLA) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Dnipro players scored in double figures. Dnipro's coach Denys Zhuravlov tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Khimik moved-up to second place. Dnipro lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost. Khimik will meet BC Donetsk (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Dnipro will play against Azovmash (#4) in Mariupol and hope to secure a win.
