The game in Odessa supposed to be also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Hoverla (13-9) played at the court of sixth ranked BC Odessa (13-8). BC Odessa did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 101-81. The game was mostly controlled by BC Odessa. Hoverla was better in third quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Hoverla 34-19 including 23 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American-Bulgarian point guard Willie Deane (188-80, college: Purdue, agency: Higher Vision Sports) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and American guard Justin Love (189-78, college: St.Louis) supported him with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Even 27 points and 4 steals by American point guard Marcus Walker (186-86, college: Colorado St., agency: Hart Sports Mngm) did not help to save the game for Hoverla. His fellow American import swingman Brian Greene (195-83, college: Florida A&M) added 15 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BC Odessa moved-up to fifth place. Hoverla at the other side dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Ferro-ZNTU. BC Odessa will play against Cherkasy (#11) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Hoverla will play against Halychyna (#14) in Lviv and hopes to get back on the winning track.
