There was no surprise when 7th ranked Horsens IC (6-11) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Aalborg (7-9) 91-86 on Wednesday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Aalborg made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Horsens IC turnovers. American point guard Ryan White (177-88, college: Texas St.) stepped up and scored 24 points, 7 assists and 7 steals (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners and forward Soren Sorensen (196-88) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds. Four Aalborg players scored in double figures. Slovenian guard Davor Sattler (185-86, agency: Global Sports Plaza) responded with 20 points and 7 assists and American forward Will Harris (198-86, college: Albany) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Aalborg moved-up to fourth place. Loser Horsens IC dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Aabyhoj. Aalborg will meet bottom-ranked Falcon (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Horsens IC will play against Vaerlose and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
