Regular Season Round 13: Anadolu Efes - Turk Telekom 78-70

Leader Anadolu Efes delivered the eleventh victory. This time they beat 9th ranked Turk Telekom (7-6) 78-70 in Istanbul. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Turk Telekom won third quarter 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Anadolu Efes made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Turk Telekom turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian power forward Dusko Savanovic (204-83, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds. The former international guard Kerem Tunceri (190-79) contributed with 12 points and 9 assists for the winners. Four Anadolu Efes players scored in double figures. Anadolu Efes' coach Ufuk Sarica allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Ali Karadeniz (203-80, college: Arizona) answered with 19 points and 7 rebounds and Latvian center Kaspars Kambala (206-78, college: UNLV, agency: Alti Sport) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Turk Telekom. Anadolu Efes maintains first place with 11-2 record. Turk Telekom at the other side dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Erdemir and Aliaga. Anadolu Efes will play against Fenerbahce Ulker (#3) in Istanbul in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Turk Telekom will play at home against Tofas (#7) in Bursa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
