TKBL top team - Fenerbahce (11-1) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they beat seventh ranked Botas (5-7) in Istanbul 89-72. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 49-29 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Fenerbahce made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Fenerbahce had a 30-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Botas' players. The best player for the winners was Australian forward Penny Taylor (185-81) who scored 30 points. International center Nevriye Yilmaz (194-80) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Courtney Paris (193-87, college: Oklahoma) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and American-Armenian swingman Quianna Chaney (180-86, college: LSU) added 26 points respectively. Defending champion maintains first position with 11-1 record. Loser Botas dropped to the sixth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Mersin and Optimum TED. Fenerbahce will meet Optimum TED (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Botas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Adana Ceyhan Bld.
