Very important is a road loss of third ranked Delikatesas (14-9) against eighth ranked Matinga-Juod. (13-10) on Friday night. Visiting Delikatesas was defeated by Matinga-Juod. in a tough game on the road 87-94. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 54-43 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for guard Aurimas Birgelis (190-88) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 6 assists (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Center Mindaugas Kalvelis (205-80) accounted for 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Guard Arvydas Cepulis (196-79) came up with 21 points and guard Aivaras Kvedaravicius (184-88) added 15 points and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) respectively for Delikatesas in the defeat. Four Matinga-Juod. and five Delikatesas players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Matinga-Juod.. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Delikatesas lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the second position with nine games lost. They share it with LKKA-Atletas and Radviliskis. Matinga-Juod. will meet league's second-placed LKKA-Atletas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Delikatesas will play against ABRO-Universitetas in Siauliai and hope to secure a win.
