Regular Season Round 18: Pamukkale - Gaziantep 65-70

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Gaziantep (13-4) defeated on the road 10th ranked Pamukkale (8-9) 70-65. It looked good early as Pamukkale took an 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Gaziantep had a 19-11 second period charge getting the lead and Pamukkale was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-70. 27 personal fouls committed by Pamukkale helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Antabia Waller (188-88, college: Auburn) who scored 23 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Salih Ugrasan (201-83) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Matthew Pilgrim (203-87, college: Oklahoma St., agency: KMG Sports Management) who recorded 13 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import center Will Caudle (206-82, college: Xavier) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Pamukkale's coach Firat Eser tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Gaziantep have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 13-4 record behind leader Genc Telekom, which they share with Selcuk Univ. Pamukkale lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with nine games lost. Gaziantep's next round opponent will be Pertevniyal (#12) in Istanbul and are hoping to win another game. Pamukkale will play on the road against Baskent Genclik in Ankara.
