Important game to mention about took place in Vilnius. Sixth ranked Mazeikiai (14-10) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 9th ranked Perlas-MRU (12-12) 85-83 on Saturday evening. Perlas-MRU was ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 30-14 third quarter run of Mazeikiai. They shot 63.0 percent from the field. Strangely Perlas-MRU outrebounded Mazeikiai 35-20 including a 14-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by center Remigijus Trakimas (205-87) who scored that evening 22 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and American guard Parrish Brown (185-84, college: Maryland, agency: Hightower Law Firm) supported him with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Even a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds by forward Karolis Brusokas (200-91) did not help to save the game for Perlas-MRU. Guard Gintautas Vileita (193-75, college: Monmouth) added 19 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mazeikiai have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Zalgiris-Sabonio. Perlas-MRU at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Ezerunas-Karys. Mazeikiai will play against league's second-placed LKKA-Atletas in Kaunas in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Perlas-MRU will play on the road against Ezerunas-Karys (#11) in Moletai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
