Regular Season Round 17: Telekom Baskets - Art.Dragons 95-92

The game between third ranked Artland Dragons (12-5) and tenth ranked Telekom Baskets (9-8) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Artland Dragons were edged by Telekom Baskets in a tough game in Bonn 92-95. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Artland Dragons. Artland Dragons were trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 27-20 charge of Telekom Baskets, which allowed them to win the game. Lithuanian guard Benas Veikalas (192-83, college: Metro St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American center Chris Ensminger (209-73, college: Valparaiso, agency: Limelight Hoops) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Anthony King (206-85, college: Miami, FL, agency: Interperformances) answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds and American-Puerto Rican forward Nathan Peavy (203-85, college: Miami, OH) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Artland Dragons. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Telekom Baskets moved-up to eighth place, which they share with B.Muenchen and Bremerhaven. Artland Dragons at the other side keep the third position with five games lost. Telekom Baskets is again looking forward to face higher ranked Artland Dragons (#3) in Quakenbrueck in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Artland Dragons will have a break next round.
